Following super fun kitchen takeovers at Mala Kaffe in August of 2019 and a Halloween party at Hantverk & Found in October, Dive went on the hunt for a space of our own.
We were ecstatic to secure a space on Margate’s Harbour Arm in January 2020. Margate based design studio VACUUM sourced materials and fitted out our Tiny Taqueria. Grand plans for private dinner parties, outside seating and margaritas in the sun were unfortunately derailed by the development of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have had to adapt and completely transform our business model, adios cozy, elbow to elbow sit-down dining, hello ultra-contemporary website ordering and contactless collection.
Our menu is designed to be transportive in a time where travel isn’t so easy. Ceviches like you would find on the Baja Peninsula, our Carnitas are heavily inspired by ONDA in Los Angeles, the Fish Tacos are a riff on the Fish a la Talla from Contramar in Mexico City and our Cadillac Margaritas hail from the cook’s birthplace; San Antonio, Texas.
Our tortillas are bought it, everything else is made in-house. Meat is outdoor reared and high welfare, fish is supplied from Fruits de Mer in Broadstairs, or directly from fishermen on the harbour…if we are lucky.
